Moon Magic

  • The Full Moon in October 2025 falls on October 6th, at 14°08' Aries

  • In many sources it’s also called a Super Full Moon (because the Moon is closer in its orbit)

  • The Moon phase aligns with Aries, giving it a fiery, initiating energy

Astrology of the October Full Moon in Aries

Because this moon falls in Aries and is a super/full moon, its energy is intense, direct, and charged. Here are the themes and potentials:

Aries is the sign of initiation, courage, and personal will. This full moon asks: What in you wants to be seen or birthed now?
Because full moons are times of culmination and letting go, in Aries it’s potent for releasing fears, self-limits, or patterns that block your forward movement.

Some astrologers note this moon will highlight tension between autonomy and closeness—how do you honor your individual flame while engaging in a relationship?

Emotions may feel magnified. Hidden tensions or unrest may want to surface for transformation.

Aries wants to act. This is a good time to set intentions that require boldness or to leap toward something new after much inner preparation.

Suggestions for Working with This Full Moon

  • Moonlit ritual: Write down what you’re ready to release, then symbolically release it (burning, burying, or letting it go into water).

  • Affirmations: Use statements like “I claim my fire,” “I step forward with courage,” or “I own my voice.”

  • Movement practice: Because Aries is a fire sign, incorporating ritual movement—yoga, dance, even walking meditation—can help you embody this energy.

  • Reflect on beginnings: Consider starting something you’ve held in your soul for a while—this moon supports first steps.

  • Shadow work: This is also a time to see where you’ve been aggressive, rushed, or reactive—calling your awareness to how you wield your power.

Holidays

Samhain (pronounced Sow-in) is the ancient Celtic festival that marks the end of the harvest season, the Celtic new year and the beginning of the darker half of the year. It is traditionally celebrated from sunset on October 31st through November 1st. For many in the modern Pagan and Wiccan traditions, it is considered the most sacred of the eight sabbats on the Wheel of the Year.

At Samhain, the veil between worlds is said to be at its thinnest, allowing us to connect more easily with the ancestors, beloved spirits, and unseen realms. It is a time for honoring those who have gone before us, listening for their wisdom, and carrying their love forward.

This festival also reminds us of the cycles of nature—life, death, and rebirth. Just as the earth releases her bounty and the fields grow quiet, we are invited to release what no longer serves us and to enter the inward journey of winter. In this way, Samhain is both an ending and a beginning: the close of one cycle and the seed of another.

Many people celebrate Samhain with altars for their ancestors, candlelit rituals, storytelling, and feasts shared with loved ones both living and remembered. It is a time of reverence, mystery, and renewal—a reminder that death is not an ending but a doorway into transformation.

A Samhain Blessing

At this turning of the wheel,
may the veil grow thin and your heart grow open.

May the wisdom of the ancestors walk beside you,
their love a lantern through the dark.

May all that no longer serves you fall away
like autumn leaves returning to the earth.

And may the spark within you burn bright, guiding you through shadow into renewal.

Blessed Samhain.
